Bissell SpotBot Carpet Cleaner

The Bissell SpotBot carpet cleaner is alarming. It works best for people who take off their shoes before entering the house and keep their carpet generally clean. And, when the occasional “oops” occurs, you pick up the SpotBot and let it do its job. The SpotBot has two tanks—one for definite water and one for waste water. The clean water tank contains marks on the side that indicate how much water and cleaning settling to add. Each full tank lasts for about 3 cleaning cycles (i.e., 3 spots) and uses up 8 oz. of cleaning solution.

So, why use the SpotBot in preference to of a standard carpet cleaner? Well, the best analogy would be the SpotBot operates like the Ronco Showtime Rotisserie Platinum Edition. Set it and neglect doing it. Just plug in the SpotBot, fill the water tank, and push either the Surface Stain or Set-In Stain button to start the cleaning pattern. At this point, you can walk away for a few minutes until the cycle ends and the machine starts beeping. No standing in one correct pushing the machine back-and-forth for a few minutes. It’s not the ideal tool if you have to clean a lot of carpet. However, for the occasional pour out, it works great.

In all seriousness, I think the SpotBot is the ideal baby shower gift. Whenever a baby spits up, and all babies do, sometimes the drool up (or vomit) lands on your pristine carpet instead of the burping cloth. That’s the time to bring out the SpotBot to expunge the milk stain from the carpet.

I had a parley with my friend yesterday and she was telling me how bland her relationship with her boyfriend had been.  I asked her how so and she said day in and day out had been the same thing; together they go to labour (separately), eat together after work, watch TV together at home and then sleep together.  I then asked her about her weekends with him.  She said it had been boring as well; wake up, eat, go to grocery shopping, watch movies at home, go hang out at the same bar occasionally then sleep.  I asked what was she hoping for and she couldn’t arrive up with an answer.  I got even more curious and asked whether they show affection to each other.  She said nada.  She finally blurted out, “He knows I taste him and I know he loves me.  We don’t do all that affection jazz.”  So I joked, “You mean you have a Ronco rotisserie chicken relationship — set it and fail it? No wonder it’s bland.”  She ROFL and we left it at that. 

Seems like the “set it and forget it” mentality makes relationships dry and boring.
