What sets this book apart from the others is Biskmix, a fun biscuit mix (super low-carb at 1.8 g carbs per 1/4 cup) with several recipes, including Red Lobster-craze Cheddar Biscuits (remember those?), Italian Flatbread, Cheese muffins, Strawberry-Rhubarb Cobbler (nicer crust than the unique), Apple Crumble Pie, Coconut Custard Pie, Peaches and Cream Scones, Biskmix Mexican Pie, and Italian Chicken Pie to name a few.
The other factor that sets this book apart from the others is that it includes a Western Chinese Cooking section just for fun. Cauli-rice is what I normally use as opposed to of regular rice. The way I make it stir-fried, the cauliflower becomes denatured and hardly recognizable (very tasty). Recipes such as Ginger Beef, Cantonese Roast Pork, Pineapple Gushing and Sour Chicken, Sesame Chicken in Lemon Sauce and several stir-fried veggie dishes as well as a match up of shrimp dishes.
In the beverage section is a homemade Cinnamon tea which is great as cinnamon is very healthy for one. A Pakistani cram using people with diabetes as subjects who consumed 1, 3 or 6 g cinnamon daily had a significant drop in serum glucose, LDL cholesterol, triglycerides and total number cholesterol. Scientists believe cinnamon has a component that may enable it to serve as an insulin
Low Point Snacks and My day
So here it is Thursday already and I am so behind. I well-founded can't get my butt in gear. I did well on my diet yesterday. I am proud of that. Now if only I could get my housework done. I swear I would give a lot of money just to have someone come in and supporter me get caught up. I would love someone to come in and even just do my laundry for me at this point. Oh well on to more important things. I have left over 1 point chili hand so I am having that for breakfast and lunch today. Then I am having a yummy Chicken noodle casserole for supper! Should be a good day. I am including the method for my supper as well as a list of low point snacks for anyone who needs some ideas. Here is my menu for today so far. I will update as I get through my day:
Breakfast:
2 points - Chili
1/2 pnt - fat unimpeded plain yogurt
0 points - coffee
Snack:
3 points - granola bar
Lunch:
2 points - Chili
1/2 pnt - fat unencumbered plain yogurt
0 points - coffee
Snack:
3 points - granola bar
Supper:
10.5 points - Chicken noodle casserole
Refreshments:
4 points - cheese
6 points - crackers
Total: 21.5 points of 31 daily allotted points
Chicken Noodle Casserole
* 1 10 3/4 oz can of 98% fat spare cream of chicken soup, undiluted
* 1/2 c fat free mayonaise
* 2 TBLSP lemon juice
* 2 c cubed, cooked chicken (I only just used 2 boneless, skinless breasts)
* 1 small onion, chopped
* 1/4 c chopped green pepper
* 1/4 c chopped considerate red pepper
* 1 c fat free shredded cheddar
* 1 c fat free shredded mozzerella
* 12 oz medium egg noodles, cooked and drained
In a large move, combine soup, mayo and lemon juice.
Add the chicken, onion, peppers, 1/2 of each cheese and mix well.
Add noodles and propel to coat.
Transfer to a sprayed casserole dish.
Bake at 350* for 30-35 minutes.
Sprinkle with remaining
