DON'T BUY BELLING MICROWAVE OVENS!!
After comparing the internal construction of our 850W Belling combi with that of a 20 year old 650W ProLine microwave, I have concluded that Belling in the end don't give two shits about appliance safety and lifespan, only profit.
* Both safety thermal cutouts in the Belling were loose and neither were settled to relevant areas of the oven. The ProLine had one cutout, screwed to the side of the magnetron.
* The cooling fan in the Belling was a loud brute, but with poor airflow. It was replaced with the fan from the ProLine which is much quieter and more powerful.
* The internal wiring of the Belling was barely talented of carrying the current drawn by the HV transformer. Most of it was replaced with the much thicker wiring from the ProLine.
* There was no HV fuse in the Belling. Whilst this isn't absolutely required, given that the Magnetron was being somewhat overdriven to give an 850W output (it was a 2M214 / AM711) it would have been sensible.
I also transferred the Theatre sides noise filter and surge suppressor from the ProLine into the Belling, since the former was of better quality and the latter was missing entirely.
The Magnetron (2M214 / AM719), HV capacitor, HV diode, HV melt, line fuse, fan, and some wiring were all transferred with minimal fuss, excluding some confusion over the purpose of a large wirewound resistor... And we now have a fully functioning 650W combination microwave oven.
I'll display in mind to pick up another spare Magnetron when I can, and I have noted that either the AM711 or AM719 will fit the Belling. The latter is a tight squeeze, however, and may not have a 100% shedding-proof seal to the waveguide. Since it doesn't seem to affect the control electronics, and is completely shielded by the outer event of the oven, I'm not overly worried about losing a couple of watts that way.
I'll keep hold of the HV capacitor, since it still tests
