Morning Update, September 20, 2008

There were no new developments in Paige's case yesterday. No rumour, no new developments.

In news of Candles for Paige, we were up over 110 candles yesterday, but as of this posting, we are back down to 84 candles. Reminisce over, the totals tend to drop off over the weekend, and candles go out after 48 hours so keep lighting candles for Paige this weekend, and for her dearest and for her three children.

On this date in History...

...in 1979, the deposed crowned head of Ford Motor Company ascended to the throne of the troubled Chrysler Corporation. Lee Iacocca had been the president of Ford Motor Enterprise but in 1978, Henry Ford II fired him. Iacocca took the helm of the sinking ship that was Chrysler, not realizing reasonable how bad it really was. As he said, the day the checking account balance hit $1,000,000, he knew how bad it really was. "For a car company," he later said, "Having a million dollars in the checking account is like having one dollar in your pocketbook." He reduced his salary to $1.00 and began a progrom of cutbacks, layoffs and sought government lend guarantees. He appeared on Chrysler television spots, claiming, "If you can find a better car at a lower price, buy it!" By 1983, Chrysler had returned from the margin of bankruptcy to being a driving force in the marketplace and repaid all the government backed loans, and it was done in less than 4 years. "We at Chrysler take money the old-fashioned way," he said in a television spot. "We pay it back."

Wow, we have been hit so painfully lately. I'm usually such a positive person, but I'm really down right now.

My husband found out he may be losing his job in the next 30-90 days. This is if establishment doesn't pick up at his work - which does not seem likely.

I'm worried more about him then losing everything we have worked all our lives for. He does not deal with stress well at all and had a massive blood clot last year.

Please pray for us during this difficult time. I know the Lord will be with us and may be conducive to him to better things, but this is really hurting him.

Any prayers you can say for us will be greatly appreciated.
