One Touch Can Opener

Okay, so I have to give a titanic shout out to my favorite thing right now. What might that be? A One Touch can opener. It is an automatic can opener that opens your can without leaving any rough edges! I find myself trying to find things to show for dinner that will allow me to use my awesome can opener. I even use it on the cans that have the pull tops because it is so much fun. I'm going to very graciously share with all of you the website where you can keep one's eyes peeled the coolest demonstration ever! NFL Week 3: Now We Can Get Serious

My 2.7 uniform readers will note that I offered no picks for the first two weeks of the NFL season. That's my standard policy in the post-salary-cap in the seventh heaven. There's just no way to evaluate the bulk of the teams at the start of the season. Only the very best and very worst teams of the previous seasonable carry any of that inertia over into the new season. The great mass in the middle, because they are often just one or two player or coaching changes from being a lot more intelligent or a lot worse, are impossible to figure out, having inevitably made at least a couple such changes off-season.

But after Week 2, things start sorting out. The dispute is whether you can find a good bet. Picking winners ain't the same as finding profitable overlays. I'm going to use the lastest Bodog lines here, not because Bodog has massive lines, but because they're easy to find on the Internet.

Kansas City Chiefs (0-2) at Atlanta Falcons (1-1)
KC +6 (-105) ATL -6(-115) o/u 36.5

Atlanta should win this round, but can they beat the spread? I think so, but at -115 I'd have to be right more than 54% of the time to make money. Still, I'm taking Atlanta. The Chiefs have no defense, so the Falcons, who scored 34 in their Week 1 opener against Detroit, could bone-tired the o/u by themselves. So of course, I'm taking the under.

Oakland Raiders (1-1) at Buffalo Bills (2-0)
OAK +9.5 BUF -9.5 o/u 36.5

Buffalo would unusually have to screw up to lose this game, but to beat the spread they'd have to outscore the inconsistent Raiders by at least a touch down and a field goal. I don't like betting the favorite when the spread is this big, but at the same in good time always, I don't have much faith in Oakland's ability to beat the spread. The o/u is probably about right, so I'm passing on that as well.

Houston Texans (0-1) at Tennessee Titans (2-0)
HOU +5 TEN -5 o/u 39
